We believe that Healthy Churches are produced by Healthy Homes which are produced by Healthy People.  Healthy people have Healthy Roots. Roots are so important because they are the source that determines the condition.

I am convinced that the reason some Christians are the same now as they were 5 years ago is because they have never changed their roots. Their roots aren’t any deeper thus the status quo remains the same! I am convinced that this can not be as pleasing to Jesus as we are stagnant in fulfilling our purpose.

Here is what we do know: Change doesn’t happen until examination. Status Quo’s will always remain such until we examine and then become discontent with the present. I challenge you today, examine your roots. Examine the areas of your life to find the condition of your roots!

Last night I took part in a candle vigil. Facilitating different remarks and speakers as they shared memories about a friend who passed away tragically. It has now been a few days since I received a call that Fausto, has passed away. Death is always sad, but when youth pass away it becomes a tragedy. Potential gone. Future non-existant. Dreams never achieved. Where there resides a period representing the finishing of a statement, there should be a sequence indicating to be continued.

The significance of this twenty year old that is now gone on, is that he was the first guy I baptized here in Arlington. He was the beginning vote of confidence from God that there is something to be done here. A friend on the phone this week said it so concisely, “This is a huge part of your story…”  Words cant express the range of emotions that I have felt over the past few days. This wasnt supposed to happen and never should have been. I talked to him on Friday and the day that he died. We were scheduled to meet at 6PM, he passed away at 5:30. Today it is Wednesday and for the third day in a row, I have tried to prepare a message for the funeral Saturday to no avail. I stare constantly at the screen not knowing where to begin. Pondering What if’s, why’s and different scenarios.

Life is short. We all know this. Invincible we are not and all of us are subject to mortality.

Unfortunately things that never should have been, sometimes become.

“Small Victories Compounded Equal Large Gains”

I strive to do this everyday. Everyday I not only strive but passionately drive myself in one area or another of a gain in a certain direction. Earlier in my ministry it would sometimes cause me to tackle HUGE projects and not give up until they were done! I would tenaciously attack them by locking myself away in a corner coffee shop or staying up all night consuming high amounts of Mt. Dew and Coffee!

The generated a huge problem by creating a culture in my life of procrastination. I would put things off, knowing I may not have the adequate time to get this done. Until a couple of years ago, I started aggressively attacking things in small victories. I would work for an hour and no matter what, I’m done at that time. Tomorrow is another day. Living by this quote: “Inch by Inch, Life’s a synch. Mile by Mile, Life’s a trial.”

Significant change rarely happens in a day, but instead happens Daily!!!

Today figure out your goals, your dreams and then break them down into small daily victories and you will watch whatever that is come to fruition! Make it happen! Today’s your day!!!

Zip Car – Zip Car is an urban car sharing program. Amazing. You rent by the hour, they pay for the gas and insurance and there are zip pods everywhere. Very convenient.

Moleskines -I have revolutionized the organization of my life by going all in to this Moleskine planner. insane. I can honestly say, i’ve never been as organized as I am right now. Efficient. its my system and it works for me.

Basecamp – My close friends are dogging me out on this, but I LOVE basecamp by 37signals. Fantastic administrative tool. It is the only and best thing that I have found that keeps everything centralized and members accountable. Akil Thompson got our VDYM using this and I am completely sold on it!

~ This is why I’m all about taking a Metro.    – A very funny political slant on the article as it blames President Obama for the mass amounts of accidents. I just Don’t think that is to quantitative!!! LOL

On a side note it proclaims we were in the metro are more likely to get into accident every 4.8 years. I think I should always carry full eh?
